Yellow

Some shots of the kids eating breakfast, with some cheery daffodils on the table.  I keep getting a couple of bunches, at Trader Joes, every time I go...cause I love them!  Glad the sun is shining today. I am in a much better mood when I see those golden rays.  Plus I need to be in a good mood today, because I was poked and prodded at the dentist earlier, & had what seemed like way too many shots in my mouth!  It is now way later & most of the left side of my face is still numb.  Trying to eat, drink, or even smile is pretty comical.  So I was sitting out back awhile ago, enjoying the Springiness of today...watching 2 of my kids dig in the dirt & the dogs too....nice day(despite the tooth Dr.)!

Nothing to do with Spring flowers or anything, but thought I'd add this picture of India & Little Bear.  She really is a nice puppy, & I am glad  the other dogs both like her, & the cat too.  Right now she is curled up  in a ball, after a hard morning of getting puppy shots & playing in the dirt outside.

New Spring Art

Hello.  These are 2 new things I've been working on, the past couple days.  I am especially happy with the way the clay doll came out.  I hope to continue this creative streak I'm on, & make some more things, in the coming days.

This is... Cecilia and Her Circles.  She is on an 8 x 8 canvas.

I call this one below...Beasley In A Box. For some reason I've always liked that name Beasley(I think just for pets, & in this case dolls, not a good people name). Anyway, she is made of clay, painted with acrylics, watercolors, & I used pencil on her face too.

Wild Things

A couple of years ago(I think), when the new Where The Wild Things movie came out, I got a little obsessed with all the stuff, for a short while.  Imagine my excitement yesterday as I perused the Target dollar bins, & found these Wild Things cups & plates....happy, happy!

Cute cup.  Yes, those are my dry fingers, in need of lotion.
Look what we found in the backyard!!!

It Really Wasn't A Race

Yay, glad Spring is here!  I am going to wait & plant some pretty flowers, out in my backyard, when the rain stops.  Also,  will maybe plant a vegetable or two.  Looking forward to that!

Whose feet are these?  Richard, Me, Aunt Monica, Uncle Larry, Toby, Dad & Maya's.
We did a race/trail run/hike/bush wacking(seriously) thing, this past weekend.  It's called the Great Silverado Footrace, & it is in the little town of Silverado, near our place.  It's a cool mountain/hippie type of town.  I was telling Richard we should move there.  Anyway, this race started out with a 1000 ft vertical climb up the mountain which took forever & I really don't see how you could run it, unless you are a mountain goat!  It was beautiful once we got to the top, & could see the town below & lots of surrounding mountains.  There were lots of wildflowers on our paths, & moss on rocks...lots to look at.  It was also super challenging.  Parts of this race, we were fighting our way through branches & plants & there really wasn't too much of a path.  So I guess it wasn't too much of a  running race for us, being that we were almost the last ones to come in, & knew we weren't in the running for 1st place.  It was an adventure though, that I will do again next year!

That is Toby & Richard on the mountain across from us.

Little Bear

This weekend, we added a new Pekingese to the mix.  We already had 2 dogs (& a cat), but my logic(if you want to call it that), is that 3 little dogs take up the space that one big dog would.  Well, it makes sense in my head...I don't know if Richard is buying it.

We were deciding between a few names like Prune,or Beetlejuice...I was even thinking of naming her Oprah. The kids kept saying she looks like a bear, so we ended up naming her Little Bear.

Richard says she has angry eyebrows...but I think they are cute.

10 on 10/Our Day In Photos

Hi there.  I have been doing this 10 on 10 photo thing today.  It is basically taking a photo every hour, for 10 hours straight, on the 10th day of the month.  I have been wanting to try it since my wonderfully creative friend, Maya, told me about it awhile back.

So here is some of our day:

Butterfly Love

This is my butterfly wall, in my new art studio/office.  I love it so far.  Notice the 2 pictures of Sage with butterflies in her hair? I have a picture of India, I still need to put up...although it is the one of her with antlers on her head, & is not really going with the wall theme.  Oh well, butterflies & deers, it shall be.

I will show more pictures of my workspace, when the whole thing is done...hopefully it'll be soon.

Pretty little things. I used to have these butterflies hanging in my kitchen window...now they are all in a tangle.  I'll have to find another good spot for them.
